While this photo may not seem super sexy, this is what the job is all about to me. Thrilled to have clients who have trusted me with helping several of their children buy their first home. Sometimes, like this one, it's a weird process.

We first wrote on a fixer upper condo (benefits of a handy client!) that had been on the market forever and had no earthly business being in a multiple offer, but of course that's where we found ourselves. And we lost. And I'm glad, because sometimes when you lose, you win.

Turned around and wrote the next day on a bigger and nicer unit we found in what we're pretty sure will turn out to be a much better building. My client moves in tomorrow and the other building is still waiting for their AGM this week where it will be very interesting to see what comes up!

Love it when a plan comes together!

Some fantastic news from our morning meeting today in the fight against cancer for those who live in the Mid-Island region. Absolutely crazy to me that currently people from all over the Island need to go to Victoria for treatments. This is a massive step forward and MUCH needed!

Huge congratulations to Rick Tieman and his not-a-fan of-cameras wife, Colleen Tieman as they took possession of their new home today! I think this is my record for longest time between listing a home for clients and helping them buy their next one! They had a beautiful custom home which took awhile to find the right buyer for, then were going to build their next home but costs had gone through the roof, so we started looking at inventory. After seeing every rancher that was out there, many the day they hit market, we finally found an amazing home and property that ticked all their specific boxes. I love organized clients who know exactly what they want and have their ducks in a row, ready to jump on it as soon as we find "the one". Thrilled for you guys and thank you for trusting me to be a part of your (long!) journey :)

Congrats to some truly amazing clients, Gurpeet and Nik, who became first time home buyers today! Like many, they left the lower mainland to make their dollars go further here on the Island. We saw a bunch of homes in one day, wrote on one, had our offer accepted that day, and they just got their keys!

Big thanks to Balraj Mann at Lendlab Mortgage Inc. Mortgage Inc. for being on the ball as always! Can't understate the importance of having a great broker in your corner!

Unbeknownst to my buyers at the start of this process, someone with the same name and some bad credit issues had gotten mixed up with their good name. They were able to work hard behind the scenes to take the steps to get things cleared up so they could buy. While it took a while longer, they ended up with an amazing home today!

Wow! 6 months ago, my team, the Vancouver Island Home Group joined Stonehaus Realty Corp. with the exciting opportunity to launch their brokerage in Nanaimo.
