We're sharing the newest clip from BC Housing's "What the BC Energy Step Code Means for Your Home" series. Featuring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) members Elder Vanessa Campbell (Íyal) and Cory Douglas on the role Indigenous traditions play on modern home design.

While this feature focuses on Squamish Nation voices and experiences in the Lower Mainland, the importance of designing homes that reflect culture, community, and sustainability is a conversation that extends to Indigenous communities across BC, including those on Vancouver Island.

VIREB is proud to launch a new Indigenous REALTOR® Scholarship, designed to support Indigenous individuals who want to begin a career in real estate.

With the support of the Real Estate Foundation of BC and KL Foundation, this scholarship covers the full cost of becoming licensed, including the UBC Sauder Real Estate Trading Services Licensing Course, required textbook, licensing exam, and licence fee.

The scholarship is open to Indigenous individuals who live within the VIREB area or whose Nation’s traditional territory is located within our jurisdiction.

By working alongside Indigenous-led partner organizations, this program aims to reduce barriers to entry and support Indigenous participation in the real estate profession.
