Each year, during the summer months, the City of Nanaimo monitors water quality at the following popular swimming spots to make sure the water is clean for beach goers and for wildlife: Brannen Lake, Colliery Dam Park, Departure Bay, Long Lake, Swy-A-Lana Lagoon (Maffeo Sutton Park) and Westwood Lake. We’ve been working towards the ‘Mother’ trail for past five weeks and start each run from 1st beach looking at our goal - today we reached the destination and I was able to point from the other side to first beach ⛰️🏃🏻‍♀️

Trunk sale Saturday!

This Saturday, head over to Nanaimo North Town Centre from 9 am to 2 pm for the first Car Trunk Sale of the year! If you are looking for a bargain or a unique buy, this event is for you! 150 vendors will be selling used items from the trunk of their cars in Nanaimo North Town Centre's south parking lot off Rutherford Road. This free to attend reuse event aims to give unwanted household items a longer lease on life and to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
