HOME.

A few years ago, my son Mike created this beautiful film for me.

Through images and music, he captured our family cabin on Gabriola, time with family in Nanaimo, and the quiet rhythms of Island life that have shaped so much of who I am.

It was a deeply personal project for him, and it remains one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received.

Watching it now feels like opening a time capsule.

Since these scenes were filmed, life has brought both joy and sorrow. Ian and I have married. Our family has welcomed new grandchildren. We have also said goodbye to both of my parents.

For a season, my attention belonged more to family than to social media. I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything.

Those experiences have deepened what home means to me.

Home is never simply a property. It’s where generations gather, ordinary moments become memories, and life unfolds through every season.

That understanding shapes the way I approach real estate. Behind every move is a person, a family, a transition, and a story that matters.

Last year, I was deeply honoured to finish third in the Nanaimo News Bulletin’s Best of the City Awards. This year, I am grateful to again be named one of the Top 5 finalists in the REALTOR® category.

As the holiday season sparkles around us, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a joyful, healthy New Year!

This season carries a little extra meaning. Earlier this week marked the first anniversary of my dad’s passing, just three short months after mom’s, and while last Christmas was a blur of shock and numbness, this year I feel something different. Gratitude. Presence. Love in abundance.

I feel my parents close this season through the memories they gave us. Music around the piano, carols and church services, long fireside conversations, gathering with friends and family, tables full of food, laughter, and connection. Christmas was something they made magical, and that spirit lives on.

I’m also quietly celebrating a professional milestone. This month marks six years since I passed my licensing exam, and I’m about to step into my seventh year as a fully licensed REALTOR®. When I include my earlier years assisting the team, I’ve been in this industry for nearly a decade. This year also marks ten years since I came home to Vancouver Island, something I’m deeply grateful for.

So here’s a toast to the season. To home, to connection, to love in abundance, and to a bright 2026! 🍷

Hard to believe it’s already been a year — and what a year it’s been. We’ve had joy and loss, laughter and tears, quiet mornings over coffee, heavy moments of caregiving and goodbyes… and the huge blessing of blending our families and welcoming two beautiful granddaughters along the way. ❤️

Through all of it, you’ve been my partner in every sense. I wouldn’t change a thing.
