If you’re looking for a quick and beautiful hike this weekend, Little Qualicum Falls is my recommendation. The loop trail (about 1.5–2 km) takes you through the forest with easy paths, a few stairs, and stunning viewpoints of both the Upper and Lower Falls.

It’s an easy-to-moderate walk, kid-friendly, and great in any weather thanks to the forest cover. Expect about 45 minutes, or longer if you explore. I will say that I recommend bringing good footwear (especially if it's a wet outside) and layering up!

The central bank lowered its benchmark interest rate to 2.25 per cent with a second consecutive cut this morning (Wednesday, October 29th).

Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem told reporters after the announcement that monetary policy-makers feel the key rate is at “about the right level” to keep inflation close to the bank's 2% target while supporting the economy through tariff disruptions, provided the economy evolves in line with its forecasts.
