BRITISH COLUMBIA — “Safe Supply” Drugs Are Being Trafficked Nationally & Internationally
A leaked Ministry of Health presentation has confirmed that BC’s taxpayer-funded “safe supply” program is fueling organized crime, fentanyl use, and international drug trafficking. The report, obtained by the BC Conservative Caucus, states that a significant portion of opioids prescribed under the program aren’t being used by the intended recipients—instead, they are being trafficked across Canada and beyond.
Conservative MLA Elonore Sturko blasted Premier David Eby, saying “Canada now has a 30-day reprieve from US tariffs to address border security and drug trafficking. David Eby must immediately stop his taxpayer-funded drug trafficking.”
The report reveals that prescriptions under “safe supply” have exploded from half a million pills in 2020 to over 20 MILLION opioid pills and fentanyl patches between 2022-2024. It also exposes the NDP government’s awareness of pharmacy incentives leading to drug diversion—despite them denying it for years.
