• Newmarket $959,500, down 9.03%, the biggest drop among York's larger towns
• Vaughan $1,119,400, down 5.21%, the smallest drop

General market info, not advice or a forecast: September in York still looked like a market where buyers had time and room to negotiate, with about five months of inventory and benchmark prices down more than the GTA as a whole. That describes September, not where prices go next. Small samples (like Newmarket's and Aurora's detached sales) can swing month to month. Fixed mortgage rates moved up through late September (lowest advertised 5-year fixed about 4.29% insured as of Oct 9), and the Bank of Canada's next rate decision is Oct 28, so if you're buying or renewing this fall it's worth comparing fixed and variable options with your lender or mortgage broker.
