The province of Ontario has announced proposed HST relief for eligible buyers of new homes, removing the full 13% HST on new homes valued up to $1 million, for savings of up to $130,000. That maximum rebate would also be maintained on homes valued up to $1.5 million.

For anyone planning a move, that could make the cost of a new home feel more manageable and make this an important time to explore your options. The premier said he hopes the program will “bring the dream of home ownership within reach for thousands of Ontario families.”
