SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NEXT HOME PROJECT. 🤎

Good design often comes down to details that seem small — but can completely change how a space feels.

The right rug size, properly hung curtains, a well-placed mirror, layered lighting, the right-sized sofa, and a correctly proportioned coffee table can make a room feel more balanced, spacious, and intentional.

A few rules worth remembering:

🪴 Rugs: Make sure your rug is large enough to anchor the furniture, with the front legs of your seating on the rug.

🪟 Curtains: Hang them higher and wider than the window to create the illusion of taller, larger windows and maximize natural light.

🪞 Mirrors: Use them to reflect light and open up a space — and when possible, place them where they reflect something worth looking at.

💡 Lighting: Think in layers. Ambient, task, and accent lighting work together to create a room that feels warm and inviting.

🛋️ Sofas: Scale matters. Leave enough space around your sofa and coffee table for comfortable movement and flow.

☕ Coffee tables: Aim for roughly ⅔ the width of your sofa, with about 16–18” of height and enough space around it to move comfortably.

Because sometimes you don’t need to completely redesign a room — you just need to get the proportions right.
