A personal deadline can shape your entire sale. Does the buyer need to know about it?
Imagine you’re expecting a baby.
There may be a point when you’d strongly prefer the move to be finished.
That timing matters.
It should shape your planning.
But does a buyer need to know why that date matters so much?
Not necessarily.
Before the home comes to market, you can decide what happens if it hasn’t sold by the date you hoped.
Maybe you would adjust something, stay temporarily, change the timing, or use another contingency.
Working through those possibilities means the deadline can inform your decisions without controlling them.
Explaining the personal reason behind it to a buyer can do something very different.
It may tell them:
These sellers need this done.
And that can change the negotiation.
The deadline doesn’t need to disappear from the strategy.
It just doesn’t automatically need to become part of the buyer’s information.
