Some stories of YZD are found in the details.

Originally located in Hangar 4, this stainless-steel WashStation served the aircraft assembly workers who helped keep the site in motion. Known as “The Bradley,” its circular design allowed many workers to wash their hands at the same time, supporting the fast pace of aircraft production.

Today, this piece has been given new purpose as part of the irrigation system that helps keep the YZD Plaza growing.

Every preserved element tells part of the story, carrying the past forward as YZD continues to evolve.

This August, YZD is teaming up with for a series of free art workshops at the Experience Centre. Experiment with everything from urban and fashion design to surreal landscape illustration, and discover where your imagination can take you.

This weekend, we welcomed curious visitors to see what’s going on behind the curtain at YZD Experience Centre, YZD Plaza, and Indigenous Hub as part of .
 
This year’s theme, “World in a City,” couldn’t have been more fitting for how we’re creating YZD before we get shovels in the ground: as a vibrant place to gather and connect that reflects the many communities that make Toronto so vibrant.

⛸️ From December to February, Hangar Skate transformed the Plaza into a winter wonderland with DJ Skate Nights, themed skating, programming, board games + more
💃🏻 Dance with De Ronov brought the heat with salsa and ballroom classes
🧦 .ca turned up the holiday magic with hands-on custom design workshops
❄️ .stations offered a special sneak peek of Embrace, a winning installation from Winter Stations 2026
