Your GPS just told you it has a fix.
It's lying.
You're under canopy, the number on screen looks clean, but that "fix" is floating half a foot from where you actually are. So you shoot the point, move on, and find out three weeks later during QC that half your topo is garbage.
Every survey crew has a story like this. Usually more than one.
Carlson built the Viking GNSS receiver specifically to stop it from happening. Instead of one RTK engine taking its best guess in the trees, it runs three RTK engines at once, checking each other before it ever hands you a number. Carlson calls it Triple-Fix. We call it not finding out at the office that your morning was wasted.
It also happens to be made in the North America, tracks six satellite constellations, tilts to 60° with zero calibration, and swaps batteries mid-shift without powering down. But honestly, the fix reliability is the whole pitch.
