AUGUST 2026 TRREB stats are here!

🔎 SUPPLY AND DEMAND: In August 2026, sales were down 2.1% compared to August 2025. New listings were down on a year-over-year basis by 14.1% to 12,075. The average number of days a property was on the market was 51 days, 4.1% higher than in August 2025.

🔎 PRICES: In August 2026, the average selling price for all home types was down 2.7% compared to August 2025 to $993,410. The average price of detached homes was down 1.8% to $1,288,669.

🔎 MARKET CONDITIONS: The GTA housing market may be starting to improve, with home prices potentially rising if inventory remains tight. Buyers may want to consider whether to wait for more economic certainty or purchase before prices increase. At the same time, improving conditions could encourage more homeowners to list, giving buyers more choice.
