🏡Ontario is expanding the HST rebate program, potentially saving eligible buyers up to $130,000 on qualifying new homes.

The goal is to make homeownership more affordable, stimulate new housing construction, and create more opportunities for buyers to enter the market.

Effective April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027, Ontario has approved a historic expansion of the HST rebate on new home purchases. Here’s the breakdown:

• Homes up to $1M → Full $130,000 rebate
• Homes $1M – $1.5M → Flat $130,000 rebate
• Homes $1.5M – $1.85M → Prorated rebate from $130K down to $24,000
• Homes over $1.85M → Existing $24,000 rebate

This applies to all buyers, not just first-time purchasers.
