A busy end-of-the-year fall season comes to a close with our final survey of 2025 in Ontario — a stunning 65 ft custom-built motor yacht.

Built in a shipyard in Quebec, this yacht features a bulbous bow and dual bilge keels integrated into the hull, delivering excellent stability and efficiency on the water.
It was a pleasure to survey such a beautiful craft and finish the year on a high note.

Part of our comprehensive sea trials on a Regal 40 completed by our senior surveyor Capt. Hatem Salama in cooperation with Daniel Silva, chief mechanic of Dan’s Marine Services.

The sea trial included different maneuvering tests, while Daniel simultaneously monitored the engine parameters using his advanced diagnostic computer.

🚤 Solving a 3-Year Mystery on a Carver 36 ⚓

We were recently hired to inspect a Carver 36 with a 5° permanent list to the starboard side—a problem that had persisted for over three years.

The owner had consulted two surveyors and several mechanics, tried shifting weights and transferring fuel between tanks, but nothing fixed the issue.

When Sea Conquest Marine Surveys was hired, we brought in our advanced inspection tools, including snake cameras. Upon investigation, we discovered the real cause:

A crack and separation in the hull support transverse stringer, which had altered the hull’s balance and weight distribution.

Once identified, the mystery was finally solved—proving the importance of thorough, professional marine surveys.

During our recent surveys, we’ve noticed a recurring problem on many European sailboats fitted with 50-amp AC power systems.

The shore power inlets are rated for 50A, but the main circuit breakers and shore power breakers installed are often only 32A.

This issue does not pass our surveys and always requires boat owners or buyers to replace the AC main breakers with properly rated units that match the vessel’s power input.
