This one carries a bit more weight for me.
Most of the time, The Preserve Guide is about our own community here in Oakville. But once in a while, someone outside those borders leaves a mark that deserves to be shared.
My wife and I met Fatima when we booked a photoshoot at FKS Studio in Burlington. We thought it would be a simple session, just some updated photos. What she captured was something far more meaningful. The kind of images that feel like memory. The soft glances, the laughter between takes, the tiny pauses that show real connection.
That is what Fatima does best. She freezes the moments that usually slip past unnoticed. Her photos are warm and full of life because they come from a place of truth. Nothing forced. Nothing staged. Just real people, exactly as they are.
FKS Studio began as a side project when she was still in university. It became something deeper after she became a mother. Photographing her daughter changed her entire perspective. What started as curiosity turned into a way of seeing the world. Now, years later, she helps other families do the same, holding on to the pieces of life that disappear too quickly.
When you walk into her studio, you feel it immediately. The space is calm and welcoming. Every detail feels intentional. There are toys tucked in the corner, warm tones on the walls, and a quiet energy that makes people feel at ease. She calls her approach lifestyle photography, but what she really does is storytelling through stillness.
Her Christmas Mini Sessions are happening right now, and they are exactly what you would hope for. Gentle light. Natural smiles. A reminder of what this season is supposed to feel like.

You will see why I wanted to feature her.
This is Fatima from FKS Studio. A mother, an artist, and someone who captures life as it is, imperfect, beautiful, and worth remembering.
