As more aircraft are brought in to support wildfire suppression efforts, you may see water-scooping aircraft operating on area lakes. These aircraft play a critical role in firefighting and need plenty of space to work safely. If you're planning to spend time on the water, consider choosing another lake or returning another day while operations are underway.

Aircraft collecting water need a large, clear area to operate safely. If you see one on a lake, move out of its path and stay near the shoreline until operations are complete.

Keep in mind that these aircraft often work in groups, so if you see one, others are likely nearby.

Your patience and cooperation help firefighters do their job safely and effectively.
