✨ Happy New Year — greetings from Uganda! ✨
We are almost halfway through our three-month journey here in Uganda serving at Watoto Children’s Village, and I can honestly say it has been a truly life-changing experience.

I am in awe of the resilience, generosity, and compassion of the Ugandan people. Being here has stretched and grown me in ways I didn’t fully expect, deepening my own sense of empathy and understanding.

While this season has been incredible, I know without a doubt that what I am learning here will come home with me — and will make me an even better guide for my clients as they navigate the journey of buying or selling a home.

Real estate is never just a transaction. It is emotional, personal, and often deeply tied to life transitions. Walking alongside you with care, integrity, and understanding — every step of the way — is not only my role as your realtor, but something I am genuinely invested in as a person.

🙏 Behind the Sign: Reflection & Gratitude
Over the past several weeks, I’ve been sharing what really goes on behind the sign — the prep work, the late-night phone calls, the laughter, the challenges, and the heart that goes into every transaction.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s this: real estate isn’t just about houses — it’s about people.

🏠 When Life Transitions Happen
I’ve walked with families through big changes: downsizing after kids have left home, saying goodbye to a longtime family property, or starting fresh in a brand-new town. These sales carry weight, and it’s an honor to be trusted in such a meaningful chapter.
✨ The “Forever Home” Moments
There’s nothing like watching a buyer walk into a house, take a deep breath, and whisper: “This is it.” That moment — when they can picture birthdays, Christmas mornings, and everyday routines — is unforgettable.
🙏 Serving Beyond the Transaction
Sometimes it’s not about the house itself, but the people. I’ve prayed with clients through big decisions, laughed with them when the stress got too high, and celebrated with them when everything finally came together. Those connections are what make this job more than just business.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in real estate, it’s this: expect the unexpected.
Deals don’t always go exactly as planned — but that’s where experience, creativity, and a steady hand make all the difference.
Here’s a glimpse of what can happen behind the sign when plans take a turn:
⏳ Timing Shifts
Sometimes possession dates need to change, or lenders need extra time. A smooth closing often comes down to clear communication and keeping everyone calm while we pivot.
💬 Tough Conversations
I’ve had to sit with sellers when a buyer’s financing fell through or gently guide buyers when an inspection uncovered more than they bargained for. These aren’t easy moments, but they’re part of the journey.
🛠️ Plan B (and C!)
The best Realtors always have a backup plan. Whether it’s re-listing quickly, re-negotiating terms, or finding a creative solution — there’s always another path forward.
😅 A Little Humor Helps
I once had a deal fall through after weeks of work. Instead of despairing, my seller laughed and said, “Well, guess we just get to have you around a little longer!” And sure enough, the right buyer came along shortly after.
✨ The truth is: flexibility, perseverance, and trust are what carry clients (and Realtors!) through the curveballs.

Behind every smooth sale or successful purchase, there’s a whole network of people working together to make it happen.
Here’s how strong relationships shape every transaction:

When clients feel safe to be honest about their needs, fears, and goals, we can work together to make the best decisions — even in tricky situations.

📞 Other Realtors Who Collaborate
The best deals happen when agents work with each other, not against each other. Professional respect can mean smoother negotiations, faster solutions, and happier clients on both sides.

🔍 Local Experts
From home inspectors and appraisers to mortgage brokers and lawyers, having trusted professionals to call on ensures the process moves as smoothly as possible.

One of my favorite “bonding” moments with a local home inspector happened when a client — thinking he was being funny — grabbed the inspector by the back of the neck and gave him a little shake. It was meant as a joke, but let’s just say it came across a bit more intimidating than intended. The look on the inspector’s face, followed by the laugh we all shared, cemented a friendship between us that still gets brought up whenever we work together.

💛 The Ripple Effect
A good experience builds lasting connections. I’ve had clients refer me to friends years later, or come back for their second (and third!) home purchase. Relationships like that are priceless.

Here’s the truth:
People remember how you made them feel far more than they remember the details of the deal.
