And if you’ve ever visited Ruth Lake, you’ve probably driven right by this cabin- and I bet you noticed it too. It’s an iconic piece of history here at the lake- the first to be built, right in its own beautiful bay. Stepping through the door feels like stepping back in time, like things just slow down automatically.⁣

I’ve been told countless stories about the joy this place has brought to its family over the years. I can almost hear the screen door slamming as the kids run down to the water, squealing and laughing. BBQ’s on the deck as the sun gets low. Music drifting from somewhere inside. ⁣

Let me tell you a little story about this house 🥹⁣

In 2018 I moved to the 108. Our family was big into nice long strolls through the Walker Valley. So I walked by this house at least a couple times a week for about 5 years. I noticed it the very first time and loved it from the start. I would dream about what it must look like inside… what it would be like to live there.⁣

And this year I got to find out!!! It did NOT disappoint. Everything about this home is so incredibly cozy, intentional, creative and homey. I honestly don’t know if better vibes in the 108 exist…⁣

I’ve spent hours out at this property, from the time I first met the (loveliest imaginable) owner of this home until the day we listed it. And there’s something absolutely wonderful going on here. I mean, obviously the house is gorgeous, but everything about it just invites you to enjoy Green Lake- and that’s the real magic. ⁣

When I was a kid, we had some family friends who owned a cabin at the lake and I’ve got some incredible core memories from summer days spent there. What beautiful thing, to have a family getaway spot. A casual, “let’s take the kids to the cabin for the weekend” situation. How lush 😍⁣

And THIS cabin getaway is really special. The gate at the top of the driveway feels like a portal into another universe where nothing else exists but you and nature. This is where you come for complete peace. Fishing off your dock, a paddle on the lake, campfires in the evening. Sigh. This place is really something else 💛⁣

There’s something to be said about having everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s freeing in a way that really lets you LIVE! And I get that sense every time I visit this place- so much warmth, heart and cheer. ⁣

The front porch is really my favourite part. It’s built for morning coffees and sharing stories with friends and watching sunsets in rocking chairs. All the best stuff 😍⁣

One thing to know about me is that I will always fall in love with a vintage charmer. And THIS one is right on Sulphurous Lake, which is one of the prettiest lakes around, it makes my heart skip. If it was mine, you’d mostly find me out on the lake in a canoe 🛶⁣
