Every year, countless families are victims of moving scams. You may have noticed a lot of press lately surrounding “fly-by-night” moving companies, and in 2021 there were over 1100 complaints filed. Recently, this family planned their move east, but after receiving their estimate & their goods were loaded, the company attempted to charge them for 14,000lbs and when they didn’t pay, placed their goods in a self storage locker 4 hours away from their new home. After the police were involved, they hired us to retrieve their items from self storage, and deliver their missing goods to their new home. We weighed their shipment, which turned out to be only 5400lbs.

This weekend at the Freddy Beach Ribfest, Liam, a child from a military family, will be surprised with news that his wish has come true.
Volunteers are URGENTLY needed to support Make-a-Wish at the Freddy Beach Ribfest this weekend!

Make-A-Wish is the charity of choice for the Ribfest event and the entrance fee for the event is a minimum donation of $2 for Make-A-Wish.

Volunteers are needed especially for Thursday June 9 but also Sunday June 12 and roles include accepting donations at the entrances, selling pop and water, selling raffle tickets on an economy flight for two to any Air Canada North American destination including Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean, selling t shirts by a local artist or being a member of the recycling team.

Volunteers who donate a minimum of 4 hours will receive a complimentary meal and volunteers will receive two meals if they volunteer for the day.

Des bénévoles sont recherchés de toute URGENCE pour soutenir Rêves d’enfants au Freddy Beach Ribfest ce week-end !

Rêves d’enfants est l'organisme de bienfaisance de choix pour l'événement Ribfest et le droit d'entrée à l'événement est un don minimum de 2 $ pour Rêves d’enfants.

Des bénévoles sont nécessaires en particulier pour le jeudi 9 juin mais aussi le dimanche 12 juin et les rôles comprennent l'acceptation des dons aux entrées, la vente de boissons gazeuses et d'eau, la vente de billets de tombola pour un vol économique pour deux vers n'importe quelle destination d'Air Canada en Amérique du Nord, y compris Hawaï, le Mexique et les Caraïbes, la vente des t-shirts d'un artiste local ou pour faire partie de l'équipe de recyclage.

Les bénévoles qui donnent un minimum de 4 heures recevront un repas gratuit et les bénévoles recevront deux repas s'ils font du bénévolat pour la journée.
