I still can't believe we're here.
Ten years ago, we dropped off a crying, anxious little girl for her first day of JK. This week, we watched her graduate from Grade 8.
This year, Mila was named Valedictorian, earned Honours, received the Music Award, and was recognized as Athlete of the Year.
We are so proud of all she's accomplished.
But when I think about the last 10 years, I don't think about the awards first.
I think about the practices, performances, volunteering, friendships, leadership opportunities, and all the moments in between. I think about how much she's grown and how she's handled the challenges life has thrown her way. Through it all, she kept showing up, working hard, and pushing herself to be better.
Somewhere along the way, that nervous little girl became a confident young woman who leads by example, cares deeply about others, and isn't afraid to go after what she wants.
Mila, we are so proud of everything you've accomplished, but even more proud of the person you've become and I know you are destined to be someone truly outstanding.
To her teachers, coaches and the admin staff, there are no words that can describe how truly blessed Mila and I have been to have had you in her life. It truly takes a village, and what an amazing village she had!
