Last night I was humbled by one of the most touching reviews I have received, after helping another beautiful family buy a home. One of the things I loved about the agent that helped us buy our current home in 2011 (Hi, Katarina Eikeland!) was that I felt she really cared about us and we weren't just another number on a board. We felt it in everything she did.
When I became an agent, I asked myself what kind I wanted to be. The answer was that I wanted to embody three qualities: I wanted to be eminently competent. I wanted to be honest and deserving of trust, even if it meant making less money. I wanted my clients to feel the level of genuine care that Katarina made us feel. We didn't need to stay on top of her. We didn't need to wait for her. We never had to wonder 🤷♂️. She didn't pass us off to "a team member." She was personally present, actively listening, having our backs, helping us dodge bullets we couldn't see coming, reassuring us, nudging us when we were overly cautious, offering her steady hand, and taking care of details we didn't know existed ("baffles" and "WETT inspections," anyone?). I think that's why reviews like this one mean so much, especially coming from someone I only met recently, after she found me online ❤️:
"If I could give Les more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Buying our first home was one of the biggest and most emotional decisions my mom and I have ever made. We had so many questions, worries, and moments where we felt overwhelmed, but from day one, Les made us feel supported, informed, and genuinely cared for. He constantly reminded us that there was no such thing as a stupid question, and he always took the time to explain everything with patience and kindness. He never rushed us or made us feel pressured. Instead, he empowered us to make informed decisions and gave us the confidence we needed throughout the entire process.
What truly sets Les apart is that he goes far beyond what you would expect from a realtor. He wasn’t just helping us buy a house, he was looking out for our future. He connected us with an amazing inspector, lawyer, and mortgage broker, always recommending people he trusted and making sure we were in good hands every step of the way.
His advice was always honest, and he genuinely wanted what was best for us, even if it meant taking more time. There were moments when we felt discouraged, but Les never let us lose hope. He reassured us that the right home would come along, and thanks to his dedication, knowledge, and encouragement, it did.
It's rare to meet someone who is not only exceptional at their job but also truly cares about the people they work with. Les treated my mom and me like family, and for that, we will always be grateful. Thank you, Les, for going above and beyond in every possible way. You turned what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with confidence, trust, and excitement. We couldn’t have asked for a better realtor, and we will recommend you to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. You are simply the best." -Joanne Calimlim.
Thank you, Joanne! Can't wait to visit you in your new home!
