Interesting change by the Bank of Canada it has just cut its key interest rate by 0.25% to 2.5%, marking the first cut since March.

This move comes as the job market weakens, inflation cools (excluding gas), and U.S. tariffs start to ease. With growth lagging and inflation under control, the BOC is aiming to boost the economy.

Economists expected the cut, and many predict more easing in the months ahead. Stay tuned! The next rate decision is on October 29!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

I had a fun day - everyone came to my place this year & we did a semi planned pot luck style supper for about 12. It was a bit of fun fitting everyone around the table but with some planning & some extra leaves in the table it worked great.

No real disasters cooking wise - I was assigned none cooking tasks.

I even bought & then put the pies in the oven myself to heat up & never burnt them. Mind you they never heated up either until someone pointed out I had not turned on the oven right. First time I have tried to use an oven in decades. They took over & the oven heated up & no smoke signals! Glory Be!

For those that say the easy way to prepare various salads (potato, egg, macaroni) is to go to a grocery store & buy them ... well that was one of my tasks & with help I never poisoned anyone ... I made one little mistake there - I was busy & bought them yesterday & forgot them in the car all night & all day today. We decided to err on the side of safety & threw them out & I bought a fresh set today. Worked great!

Fun day & no food burnt! Amazing - Thanks to All!

And I post this to maybe put an idea out there - if you can invite a bunch of people over to your house or suggest someone else does it & offer to help as you can. It was a relative that suggested I do it this year & it worked.
