For my clients throughout the GTA, a new comparative on property tax rates, from DurhamRegion.com, shows Durham region has some of the highest rates across the GTA while Markham has the lowest rate!

For the month of July the average selling price exceeded the list price for most types of homes in Oshawa. We did however see an increase in the number of days on the market for all home types.

Dear friends and community members, please review and assess if this is something you feel is warranted in a park where children are playing, within a few hundred meters of an elementary school and of course, surrounded by residential homes

There are many viewpoints on this topic; one to keep in mind, as shared by the federal government,

"The findings of the market study of actual home prices confirmed the opinion survey results. In the two suburbs studied where towers were built in 2000, the effect of a tower on home prices was a decrease of between 20.7% and 21%."

Oshawa is seeking public comments on the plans for the telecommunications tower, before the City finalizes the terms of the lease or provides any comments to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. A public meeting will be held.

When: Monday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m.

Where: An in-person public meeting will take place in the Council Chamber, Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre St. S. The meeting will also be available virtually at calendar.oshawa.ca/Meetings.
