6 months ago, I challenged myself. I wanted to see if I could run, and how far could I go? It didn’t go well and that scared me. As someone who has always considered myself athletic, it was a wake up call. It showed me what my future in this body could look like if I continued doing nothing.

So I did it again the next day. And the next.

This journey changed me more than I ever thought it would, in ways I never even considered. Training challenged me physically yes, but even more mentally. There were injuries, setbacks, days I wanted to quit, and moments where discipline carried me because the motivation tank was on E. It taught me self control, consistency, patience, and how to keep showing up for myself even when nobody was watching. Running became more than exercise it became time to pray, reflect, trust God, and learn that I’m capable of more than I give myself credit for.

It’s been 186 days, on Sunday I participated in my first organized race. I completed a half marathon and had SO much fun! I couldn’t be more proud of myself, and I’m excited to see where these two feet will take me next 🏅🏃🏻‍♀️💨
