Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a pre-drywall tour of an exciting project by Ottawa General Contractors (OGC). 🚧✨ This build features Ottawa’s first 517 sq. ft. second-level coach house, complete with a two-car garage and a car lift - an impressive design!

I’ve always enjoyed exploring properties during different construction phases. It takes me back to my days as a commercial designer, where these tours were an integral part of the process.

This was a fantastic learning opportunity with Nick Karrandjas and the OGC team. We discussed building materials chosen for setback restrictions, zoning bylaws, and how these factors shape both current and future projects. It’s always exciting to learn how projects evolve and adapt to current and future regulatory considerations.

To make the visit even better, I ran into fellow investor and seasoned expert Marc Laframboise. Always a pleasure exchanging insights with someone so knowledgeable!

Events like these are a great reminder of the value of staying curious and continuing to learn from every opportunity.

This past weekend, I attended the WE BILD ‘Bring Your Kids Networking’ event hosted by Victoria Cluney featuring Sam Demma and his signature speech Empty Your Backpack. An inspiring global keynote speaker and author, Sam captivated the audience - young and young at heart - with his story, encouraging words, big smile, and infectious laugh.
