Why is it called The Golden Triangle? ⭐️ Fun Fact:

The Golden Triangle isn't called "golden" because it's expensive or prestigious. It's literally named after its shape. The neighbourhood forms a triangle between Elgin Street, the Rideau Canal, and the Queensway, coming to a point where Elgin Street and the Canal meet.

The triangle didn't always exist. The unique shape was created during the construction of the Rideau Canal in the 1800s, when engineers made a sharp 90-degree turn in the canal. One of the only turns of its kind along the entire waterway.
