Meet Heather Jenkins! 👋

Heather has called CCOC home for the past four years, and we recently sat down with her to ask her what affordable housing means to her.

“I hadn’t heard of CCOC before, it was my support worker who found them while I was looking for housing. I have lived here for four years now and I love it. I love this community. Everybody just loves to help everybody.

Affordable housing isn’t a different way of living. It gives people the chance to have a real home.”

Every two years, CCOC’s Tenant Satisfaction Survey provides an important opportunity for tenants to share their experiences, helping us keep tenant voices central to our decision-making.

The insights we receive help us shape services and plan improvements and build safe, welcoming spaces that reflect our tenants’ priorities.

Last week, CCOC held its 52nd Annual General Meeting! We discussed the successes of our previous year, elected a new Board of Directors (Swipe to the end to see their wonderful faces!), and celebrated our fantastic Lifetime Members!

Thank you to all CCOC employees and volunteers who helped make this event run smoother than butter 🧈!

And a special thank you to Councillor who guest-chaired our meeting! We are fortunate for the support and attention you bring to the importance of affordable housing in our city.

In case you missed it, we’re thrilled to be among the projects announced by during his address with the Build Canada Homes partnership.

Our site at 240 Presland road will create 64 new homes! And it’s your investment in our Housing Forever Community Bonds that helped make this project shovel ready. We can’t wait to get started on this! 🏡
