This may seem obvious, but it's a pretty crucial packing tip. Getting rid of anything you no longer need will help with the packing process.

We like the concept Marie Kondo has developed, holding the item and asking ourselves "does this bring me joy?"

If the answer is no, it doesn't come on the move with you. If you're unsure, ask yourself if you've used or enjoyed this item in the last six months to a year. If the answer is yes, pack it up. If the answer is no, then it may be time to say goodbye, even if you feel some guilt over it.

Another trick that can help you is making sure you have all the measurements of your new home. Will all your items fit? This can help with the decision to leave certain items behind or bring them with you.
