The highly anticipated bump in sales expected for Ottawa’s fall market did not materialize in September. Sales fell 6.6% from last September and were virtually unchanged from the previous month of August. Meanwhile, the number of new listings coming onto the market grew in its normal seasonal pattern. Inventory grew significantly to 4.8 months overall, the highest level in 10 years. But most Sellers appear to be holding firm on their prices, as the average sales price fell only 1.0% from last year and showed virtually no change from August. In this kind of uncertain market, it is essential to get the best advice.
