HELLO, OCTOBER. 🍂🤎

There’s just something about October in Ottawa.

The crisp air, the changing leaves, the beautiful neighbourhoods and pathways along the water, this is one of those times of year that reminds me just how beautiful our city really is and how fortunate we are to call it home.

And with a new month and the final few months of 2026 ahead of us it’s also a great time to start thinking about what 2027 might look like for you.

More Than a Sold Sign. So Much More. ✨

I’m usually the one showing up with the gift baskets. ❤️ So when my sellers surprised me with a beautiful basket of my own, I was already incredibly touched.

But then came the note.

My seller & friend stood there and read it to me, and before long, all of our eyes were filled with tears. And in that moment, I was reminded all over again why I take what I do so personally.

This sale wasn’t an easy one. There were obstacles, unexpected turns, stressful moments and plenty of moving parts along the way. But we stuck together. We communicated. We trusted one another. And we kept moving forward as a team until that SOLD sign finally went up. 🏡❤️

Because real estate is rarely just a transaction.

A family home holds years of memories, milestones, celebrations and chapters of life. Selling it can be exciting, emotional, stressful and sometimes all three at once. I never forget that when someone hands me the keys to their home, they’re also placing an enormous amount of trust and faith in me 🔑

This one is very special. ❤️

Today’s closing is for a longtime friend of over 30 years truly a friend of our family as he takes this next step and purchases an investment property for his two sons while they attend school here in Ottawa.

And this one was definitely a journey.

We’ve been working together for almost a year back and forth, looking at different possibilities, figuring out what made sense for this next chapter and, most importantly, waiting for the right property.

We actually had offers accepted on two other properties along the way, but after the inspections uncovered concerns, we made the decision to walk away.

That’s the part of real estate you don’t always see.

You see the SOLD sign.
You see the keys. 🔑
You see the smiling photo on closing day.

But you don’t always see the months of searching, the offers, the inspections, the negotiations, the follow-up, the disappointments, the patience and sometimes knowing when to walk away.

Finding the right home can take weeks, months or even a year or more. But with persistence, hard work, trusted connections and a whole lot of follow-up, eventually the right one comes along.

And today, we crossed the finish line together. 🏁🏡

I am so incredibly grateful to my longtime friends for trusting me to help their family with this next chapter.

And in the most wonderful full-circle moment… his wife was the person who helped me secure my very first mortgage when I moved back to Canada all those years ago. ❤️

After putting in offers on other properties and making the difficult decision to walk away when inspections uncovered concerns, we finally found the right one a beautiful, well-maintained, absolutely gorgeous home in Manotick that checked all the boxes and, most importantly, felt right.

This one is extra special for me. My client is a longtime friend and, believe it or not, was actually my boss at Canada Post more than 30 years ago! She was an incredible person and boss then, and she hasn’t changed one bit. ❤️
