Not every great moment makes it into its own social media post, so here's a little peek behind the scenes of July.

There were dinners with friends, dogs joining us on patios, beach walks, afternoons exploring downtown Qualicum Beach, discovering local restaurants, supporting some wonderful local food and beverage producers, football on the couch, and plenty of reasons to appreciate another Vancouver Island summer.

Kira also embraced her new work-from-home routine, fitting in beach days, lake adventures, patios with beautiful views and lots of time outdoors with friends and her dog.

These photos capture the moments in between the appointments, showings and paperwork—the everyday experiences that make this community such a wonderful place to live and work.

📸 July Through My Camera Roll ☀️

Real estate is a big part of my life—but it's certainly not all of it.

July was filled with discovering local restaurants, supporting some fantastic local food and beverage producers, afternoons in downtown Qualicum Beach, dinners with friends (dogs included 🐾), and ending more than one evening on the couch watching football.

Kira made the most of summer too, with beach days, lake adventures, patios with a view, and settling into her new work-from-home routine.

These are the moments in between the appointments, showings, paperwork and phone calls—the ones that remind us why we love living and working here on Vancouver Island.

Happy BC Day! 🇨🇦

Funny how one holiday can have so many names. Across Canada today is celebrated as BC Day, Heritage Day, Saskatchewan Day, New Brunswick Day, Natal Day, Terry Fox Day, and Regatta Day... and Ontario couldn't even settle on just one name!

Meanwhile, Quebec packs a lunch and heads to work. 😄

Whatever you're celebrating today, I hope you're making the most of the long weekend—whether you're at the beach, out on the water, exploring Vancouver Island, or simply relaxing at home.

I don’t talk about this enough… but this is the neighbourhood I get to call home 🤎

Not just where I work… but where I live, walk, and spend my days (usually with Cinder close behind 🐾).

✨ JUST SOLD — RESORT DRIVE ✨

Some sales feel especially meaningful because of the story behind them.

Jan was referred to me by the seller of the last unit I sold at the resort—an introduction I was incredibly grateful to receive. Referrals like this are the greatest compliment because they’re built on both trust and someone else’s confidence that I’ll take good care of the people they send my way.

After more than 30 years of ownership, Jan decided it was time to pass her unit along to someone new. And clearly, the timing was right: it sold for full price in just 24 hours!

Bank of Canada Interest Rate Announcement – July 15, 2026

The Bank of Canada held its overnight policy rate at 2.25 per cent this morning. In the statement accompanying the decision, the Bank noted that despite significant global uncertainty and volatility, Canada's economy is showing signs of improvement, with growth rebounding in the second quarter and broadening across sectors. The Bank projects growth of just 0.7 per cent this year but expects the economy to expand by 1.8 per cent in both 2027 and 2028. On inflation, the Bank expects CPI to remain elevated in June before gradually easing in the coming months and returning to its 2 per cent target in 2027.

Although the status of the conflict with Iran remains fluid, fears of an oil-price-driven inflation spiral have not materialized. While headline inflation has moved higher, there is little evidence that higher energy costs have been passed through to core inflation in Canada, which remains subdued. As such, there is no need for the Bank to raise rates this year. However, if the Canadian economy continues to regain momentum and core inflation settles near the Bank's 2 per cent target, policymakers may not need to keep the overnight rate at the low end of the neutral range for much longer. In that case, the Bank could begin moving its policy rate back toward 2.75 per cent next year.

That outlook, combined with rising inflation in the United States, which has made a summer rate hike by the Federal Reserve a real possibility, is putting upward pressure on five-year bond yields, which drive fixed mortgage rates in Canada. Consequently, fixed mortgage rates may edge higher heading into the fall.
