I was born and raised in the Yukon, where my parents farmed off-grid and practiced a sustainable lifestyle a little less than a hundred miles outside Dawson City. Farming, hunting and fishing allowed me to develop a multitude of skills outside of those I learned from home-schooling and taught the grit and determination I bring to my real estate career today. Home-schooling is where my love of real
estate started though, with a unit in grade school social studies called “creating a beauty spot”. Much to the dismay of my outdoorsy, tomboy mother, I was hooked, and so began a life-long love of interior design and styling! My former career was in public service with the Federal and provincial governments. As a certified Accounting Clerk, I quickly moved from clerical work to financial and office management, gaining experience in procurement and records management, as well as policy, community planning and legislative development. In 2011, my husband and I opened one of the first online accounting firms in Western Canada. After discovering a huge gap in small business’s ability to access professional accounting services, we decided to specialize in serving only small and online business. We learned so much in our seven years in this business, focusing on educating and guiding our clients to ensure that they, as well as us, grew in business. In my five years in real estate, I have practiced and honed the skills I learned both in business and government and my focus is always to help, inform and guide my home buyers and sellers so they are comfortable and confident in their decision-making process. I have found over the years that the more a person knows about the home and the process, the more confident they are. My goal is for every client to enjoy a stress-free and fun experience! Outside of work, I love to spend time with my husband, Keith, our son Trace and his wife, Sam and our adorable grandcat, Earl! I am an unabashed beer and coffee snob and a prodigious foodie and love exploring the incredible culinary delights of Vancouver Island! I live and breathe to design and decorate, and also love woodworking, especially designing interesting fences and screens, whole food cooking, biking, kayaking, gardening, and most of all spoiling our own sweet kitty, Winston Gray, Esquire!
