A Reflection on Failure, Faith, and Inner Guidance
My name is Theo, and I have failed.
Not quietly.
Not gently.
I failed in a way that shook my identity and stripped away certainty.
I trusted many people—my business partners, my lawyer, my clients, my employees. And I accept my part in that trust.
What I’ve come to understand is that the deepest wound was not the failure itself, but that I ignored the quiet wisdom within me. My intuition spoke softly, as it always does. It said: start small. Learn before you grow. Be patient.
But ego has a louder voice.
It often comes dressed as confidence.
And I listened to it instead.
I had known success before and believed I was immune to collapse. In that belief, I became both bold and blind. When things fell apart, I first looked outward for blame. Then inward with harsh judgment. Over time, something gentler emerged: understanding.
The failure was not punishment.
It was initiation.
It humbled me, softened me, and taught me discernment. Through that breaking open, I was given the opportunity to serve in a deeper way. Since then, I’ve been honoured to mentor others—sharing not just strategies, but wisdom earned through lived experience. There is healing in helping others avoid the pain you once carried.
Today, I stood beside my last major project—the largest one my old formwork company completed. Once, it represented shame. Today, it felt different.
I felt no regret.
Only gratitude.
It reminded me that courage is essential—but so is alignment. Growth without grounding leads to collapse. Growth guided by intuition unfolds with grace.
I now understand this truth:
It is not enough to have vision.
It is not enough to move fast.
You must move consciously.
And you must grow with the right people.
When we ignore our inner knowing, life will redirect us—sometimes gently, sometimes through loss—but always toward truth.
So today, I give thanks.
For the lessons.
For the humility.
For the wisdom gained through failure.
Failure is not the end.
It is a teacher.
A mirror.
An invitation.
Trust your intuition.
Move with patience.
Choose your people carefully.
And remember—
even in falling, you are being guided.
