WEEKLY MARKET UPDATE | AUGUST 24
The late-summer market continues to give buyers plenty of choice, while sellers are seeing a market where pricing matters more than ever.
💎 Nanoose–Bowser: Total inventory remained almost unchanged this week at 442 listings, up from 441, while firmed-up sales increased from 143 to 147. Looking at the past three reports, inventory has climbed 434 → 441 → 442, while sales have held relatively steady at 143 → 143 → 147 — showing a stable market with slightly more competition among sellers.
💎 Nanaimo: Inventory increased from 673 to 684 listings this week, while firmed-up sales rose from 205 to 215. Looking at the three-week trend, inventory has remained high at 674 → 673 → 684, while sales have moved 227 → 205 → 215. Buyer activity picked up this week, but remains below where it was two weeks ago.
For buyers: With plenty of inventory available, buyers have the opportunity to compare their options carefully and focus on finding the home that best fits their needs.
For sellers: This isn’t a market where every listing moves at the same pace. Buyers are comparing their options carefully, making it important to watch activity and adjust your strategy when needed.
