Pathways will be hosting the 12th Annual Community Inclusion Chain this year on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 10 AM in front of City Hall on Water Street! We strongly encourage members of the community to join hands with us to create the longest “chain” thus far 🤩 Following the Inclusion Chain, members of the community are welcome to join us at the Metro Hub on Ellis Street from 11 AM to 2 PM for pizza, socializing, and karaoke! The Annual Inclusion Chain is an event to celebrate October as Community Inclusion Month - to recognize the valuable contributions of adults with diverse abilities, and to emphasize the importance of creating inclusive communities where everybody belongs. 🫶🏻 Join hands with us to raise awareness! Three years ago our founder, Greg Bickert, recruited staff and partners of Inspire Property Management to participate in motionball for Special Olympics and together we raised $28,390 since then! We appreciate Greg’s continued efforts to support inclusion and diversity in the workplace and seeing how his spirit has spread within the community around us. Greg has been a volunteer, donor, or both for motionball since 2018, and we are grateful for his passion for this event and for introducing us to the Marathon of Sport. We are all looking forward to September 20th and getting to participate in a day of fun and inclusion with a few of our local athletes.

Side Note: we use the term in our office because “a difference in ability does not disable a person from participating in our society!” Thanks Greg for reminding us that words matter.

This is some wonderful news shared by Okanagan Nation Alliance about the return of Chinook to Okanagan Lake.

Yesterday, we had our very first ever confirmed ntytyix, adult Okanagan Summer Chinook passing the Penticton Dam fish ladder and migrating into Okanagan Lake. This was one of the fish we released from our hatchery 4 years ago! We are thrilled that the Chinook have returned to Okanagan Lake, and this is a big milestone for our program to restore the population to their former range. 🩵
