Inflation announcement! 📉
Canada's inflation rate dipped to 1.7% in April — largely thanks to the federal government's removal of the consumer carbon tax and falling crude oil prices. But don’t celebrate too much just yet. While headline inflation eased, core inflation (which excludes volatile items) actually climbed above 3%, well above the Bank of Canada’s 2% target. With grocery and auto prices creeping up due to US tariffs, economists say this complicates hopes for an imminent interest rate cut. All eyes are now on the Bank of Canada’s next decision, set for June 4. We can still hope to see a rate cut that may help stimulate the real estate market in time for Summer!👀📆
