At Base Living, we understand the importance of community and how this impacts the spaces you use every day. Our villages will be part of our Communication Association, whereby homeowners benefit from access to shared amenities, maintained common areas, and organized governance that helps protect property values and foster a sense of community.

Future homeowners at a Base31 village can expect access to several amenities including a future clubhouse, wellness amenities, events, communal gardens, gathering spaces, and ongoing programming, all supported collectively by the contributions of the residents who live here.

For many people, retirement isn’t about slowing down. It’s about finally having the time to live the way you’ve always imagined.

More mornings outdoors. More time for hobbies, creativity, and exploring new places. More opportunities to connect with neighbours who quickly become friends.

That’s part of what’s drawing so many active retirees to Prince Edward County. Great food and local wineries, arts and culture, beautiful landscapes, and a strong sense of community all make it a place where life can feel both relaxed and full.

At Base Living, we’re thinking about that next chapter too, creating communities that feel connected to the County and the people who call it home.

For those already living in PEC, what do you enjoy most about this stage of life in the County?

A strong community can make all the difference when raising a family.

At Base31, places like The Hub Child & Family Centre help support parents and children through every stage. From programs and resources to welcoming spaces where families can connect, learn, and spend time together, it’s the kind of support that helps a community thrive.

It’s one of the many things that makes the County such a meaningful place for families to put down roots.

For those raising families in PEC, what local programs or spaces have been most helpful for you?

One of the things people quickly come to appreciate about life in Prince Edward County is the night sky.

Away from the bright lights of the city, clear evenings often mean you can actually see the stars. It’s a small reminder of the slower pace here, and a chance to pause, look up, and take it all in.

Whether you’ve lived in the County for decades or are just beginning to imagine calling it home, the simple beauty of a PEC night sky never really gets old.

More and more people are discovering that the lifestyle they’ve been looking for isn’t across the country - it’s right here in Prince Edward County.

Life in the County moves a little differently. There’s space to breathe, time to slow down, and nature never feels far away. Open landscapes, quiet mornings, and a strong sense of community shape the rhythm of everyday life here.

And while it feels a world away from the noise of the city, it’s still closely connected. Toronto is about two hours away, while Kingston and Ottawa are just a short drive, making it easy to stay connected to work, family, and the places you know.

For many, it’s the balance they’ve been looking for all along.

Base Living is being thoughtfully designed for the people who already call Prince Edward County home, and for those who are beginning to imagine calling it home one day.

For families putting down roots.
For retirees who want to stay close to the community they love.
For anyone who appreciates quiet mornings, open skies, and neighbours who know your name.
For those who like to explore new foods, culture, and events.

Our goal is simple: to create communities that feel connected to the place, the people, and the rhythm of life that makes The County so special.

We’re looking forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.
