Most people think selling a cottage starts the day it hits MLS.
It doesn’t.

It starts months earlier,
walking the property together
standing on the dock talking about timing
reviewing lake data
understanding who the right buyer actually is.

It’s conversations at the kitchen table about strategy, not just price.
Because a cottage isn’t just a property.

It’s years of long weekends, morning coffees by the water, and sunsets you never quite captured on camera.

When it’s time to sell, you deserve more than a sign at the end of the driveway.
You deserve thoughtful preparation, intentional positioning, and a plan that reflects your cottage’s true value.

You deserve a proven 5-step signature selling process.

That’s how I move you from “for sale” to “sold.”
With clarity and confidence.

This is my version of a love language.

Not flashy.
Not rushed. (At least not more than cottage real estate ever is.)

It’s the text that says “we’re ready to sell.”
Coffee in hand while the paperwork comes together.
A referral from someone who trusted me.
An inspection that goes exactly as planned.

Real conversations.
Trusted referrals.
Proven systems.
Smooth processes.
And clients who turn into friends.

That’s the kind of work I’ll always choose.
That’s the kind of experience I’ll always deliver to you.

How do I make my cottage stand out in Muskoka?

This is one of the most common questions I get — and the answer is almost never about doing more.

It’s about doing the right things.

It starts with clearing the lake views so the setting can speak for itself. When someone walks into a cottage, they should feel the connection to the lake immediately. No distractions. No guessing. Just that instant Muskoka moment.

Next, we stage for the cottage lifestyle — not just the rooms. Coffee on the dock, lazy afternoons on the deck, evenings by the fire. It’s about showing how the cottage lives, not just how it looks.

And then we highlight the location. Not just “Muskoka,” but your lake, your exposure, your surroundings. The details that make this cottage different from every other one a buyer will see.

When a cottage is positioned properly, the value is clear — and the right buyers connect with it right away.

Like a thoughtfully aged wine, the right home is all about balance.

When you taste wine properly, you slow down.
You notice structure. Balance. Context.
You don’t just ask “Do I like it?”—you ask why.

Real estate works the same way.

A cottage isn’t just square footage or price per square foot.
It’s how the light hits the dock at 6 pm.
How the layout supports the life you actually live.
How the lake pairs with your lifestyle, not just your budget.

Just like wine, the right match isn’t about trends—it’s about fit.
Bold or restrained. Classic or unexpected.
What works beautifully for one person might overwhelm another.

My job isn’t to move inventory—whether it’s a bottle of wine or a cottage.
It’s to help you taste, compare, and understand
so when you choose, you’re confident it’s the right pairing.

Because the best decisions—
in wine and in real estate—

are the ones you savour, not rush.

Why I love my job

When Darlene reached out, she wasn’t looking for a pitch.
She was looking for clarity.

She came prepared—with questions, considerations, and the need for real answers before making any decisions.

We didn’t just review “comps.”
We assessed the true, real-world value of her cottage and explored what future opportunities could look like.

The result wasn’t just an evaluation.
It was confidence.

She walked away with a clear plan—one that moved at her pace.
No pressure.
No push.
Just honest insight, thoughtful strategy, and numbers that actually mean something.

Because in real estate, the best decision isn’t always the fastest one.
It’s the most informed one.

If your cottage is a question mark in your life,
Let’s turn it into clarity.

I’ve seen it more than once.

Your adult children have champagne memories on a beer budget.

It’s the classic family showdown:

You’re ready to trade in all the maintenance and upkeep of your

Muskoka cottage for a simpler summer holiday where someone waits on you for a change.

But your adult children are staging a sit-in on the dock.

They want the family cottage to stay in the FAMILY—forever.
And who can blame them??

It’s an all-inclusive experience every weekend for them.

Someone else is paying for the upkeep and property taxes.

And they don’t have to fork out the $15,000 for a dock repair that’s currently pending.

They get to enjoy the best part of cottaging.

Sitting on the dock with a drink in hand, soaking in the view.

But as the "Board of Directors" of your own retirement, it’s time for an intervention.

And while each family’s situation is unique, two common threads I hear over and over again from cottage owners thinking of selling include:

The carrying costs of cottaging are too much on a fixed income.

The maintenance and upkeep is physically too much as we age.

So how do you start this conversation with your kids when they don’t want you to sell?

That’s where I come in.

Every Detail Matters.

Staging is about thoughtfully shaping each space to reflect the story of your cottage and the lifestyle it offers.

It’s about helping buyers picture themselves at home.

In fact, 81% of buyers say staging makes it easier to visualize a property as their future space. Sometimes all it takes is rearranging furniture and a few thoughtful décor updates to highlight your cottage’s best features and spark an emotional connection.

My approach is to curate each space so buyers don’t just see a cottage, they see their future.

Because when buyers can see themselves living there, offers tend to follow.

A gentle reminder that some of life’s best moments are the quiet ones.

Snow falling outside, cooking my favourite Champagne Beurre Blanc, the warm aroma filling the kitchen, and good food shared with the people you love.

It’s in these small, cozy rituals that we often find everything we’ve been looking for.

They say you can’t go back,

but every summer when they land on my dock…

it’s the 1990’s all over again.

Someone recently asked me what is so special about these high school friends.

We knew each other before life got loud.

Before the mortgages, the career pivots, kids,

and the complicated "adulting."

When our lives were dominated by cheerleading practices, high school dances, volleyball games, and student council meetings.

These are the people who saw my dreams when they were just whispers,

long before the world tried to tell me who I should be.

We’re the keepers of each other’s history.

Through the "no-filter" eras, the questionable fashion choices, the first heartbreaks, and the silly fights that felt like the end of the world.

They are my first glimpse of loyalty—the kind that doesn't need a formal invitation to show up when things get hard.

It’s been over three decades since we last walked the WDHS halls together, but we’ve proven we aren't just "school friends."

We’re walking archives of an adolescence that never truly left,

Timeless reminders of a simpler journey.

And proof that while life changes everything else, some roots grow deeper.
