Some collections aren't chosen... they just happen 💙

For years, these baskets have hung in our kitchen, catching everything from spelling tests and science projects to permission slips, report cards, artwork, awards and the little pieces of childhood that seemed so important in the moment. My kids are grown now and haven't been in elementary school or even high school for a few years. And yet the baskets are still here. Still full.

Every so often I think, "I should probably take those down." But then I look at them, and I'm reminded that they were part of the rhythm of our home for so long. They're a quiet little time capsule of busy mornings, after school stories, proud accomplishments and our everyday life.

Homes have a funny way of collecting memories along with the people who live in them. Sometimes it's a shelf of cookbooks. Sometimes it's two baskets that have outlived their purpose but somehow still belong 🏡 ~Abby
