🏡 The Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® (CLAR) has released its May 2026 housing market statistics, showing a strong and active spring market across the Region.

In Northumberland County, home sales increased by 24.3% compared to April, while new listings rose by 17.3%, providing buyers with more options and contributing to healthy inventory levels. Homes also sold more quickly, reflecting continued buyer confidence and engagement in the market.

📈 Northumberland County Highlights
• 128 homes sold in May, up 24.3% from April (103 sales)
• Average selling price was $695,364, down 2.6% from April
• 380 new listings came to market, a 17.3% increase
• Homes sold in an average of 42 days

​C​LAR highlighted the importance of addressing housing affordability ​and welcomed government efforts aimed at reducing development costs and supporting housing supply.

With inventory levels remaining healthy and buyers benefiting from increased choice, the spring market continues to create opportunities across Northumberland County and the broader CLAR Region.

📊 April 2026 Housing Market Update

The Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® has released its latest market stats, showing continued spring momentum across the region. Month-over-month, both sales activity and average prices are on the rise, while inventory levels remain steady—signs of a more active and balanced market.

The Bank of Canada’s decision to hold the overnight lending rate at 2.25% is helping provide much-needed stability for buyers and sellers alike. This consistency is supporting increased confidence as we move deeper into the spring market.

In Northumberland County:
🏡 103 homes sold in April (up slightly from March)
💰 Average price rose 6.5% to $714,267
📉 New listings dipped slightly by 1.2% to 324
⏳ Homes averaged 56 days on the market

Ongoing investments—like the province’s $17.2M commitment to local water infrastructure across Northumberland and Peterborough South— is a critical step in paving the way for much-needed housing supply and economic growth across our communities.
