❤️💙 What We Saw | August 24–30 ❤️💙

A week of new beginnings, significant change and meaningful moments.

🏡 We launched our new listing in Chinook Mobile Home Park, completed a market evaluation in Eaglecrest and showed properties from Chemainus to Parksville, Nanoose, Errington, French Creek, Deep Bay and Qualicum Beach—with showings for both Brittany and me right through Sunday. Seeing so many communities firsthand keeps us closely connected to what buyers are experiencing across our market.

🔑 We wrapped things up at Hemsworth, where wonderful clients and friends are moving closer to family.

🥂 We celebrated at Asteras with a fabulous couple who recently moved to Nanaimo. We love that our client relationships so often continue long after the keys are handed over.

❤️💙 Monday marked the beginning of Real REMAX Group. When concerns were raised about the use of the RE/MAX logo, the new leadership listened and reversed its decision within 24 hours—an encouraging beginning.

We then received the sad news that RE/MAX Co-Founder Gail Liniger had passed away at 81. Gail helped build the foundation for generations of RE/MAX agents. Her recovery after the devastating 1983 plane crash—and her refusal to let others define what was possible for her—has always inspired me. She lived with courage and resilience. Her legacy endures.

💃 And we made time for joy. When I dropped Brittany off, little C and I danced beside my RAV4 while Siri played Elmo’s “Happy Dance.” As Brittany told C, “Carol loves to dance too!”

Why do some homes attract multiple offers—even when many others are sitting on the market and reducing their prices?

We’ve recently had multiple offers on several of our listings, and while price matters, it isn’t the only reason.

Buyers respond emotionally. Strong curb appeal, thoughtful upgrades and a beautifully maintained home can create an immediate feeling: We could move in and be happy here.

Before recommending a list price, we consider recent sales, current competition, condition, location and how buyers are likely to experience the home from the moment they arrive.

The right pricing and presentation work together. Pricing creates attention. Presentation creates desire. And when buyers see value and feel a connection, strong results can follow.

👀 What We Saw This Week | August 17–23

⏰ Early mornings, late nights and plenty of hustle during what would usually be a slower-paced time of year. Real estate doesn’t always follow the calendar!

📸 We enjoyed two listing photo shoots with the talented team at Artez Photography. We love Alberto’s beautiful photos and collaborating with Paloma on videos that bring each property to life.

🏡 Carol’s showings led to an accepted offer on a Qualicum Beach condo, with subjects removed the very next day—an exciting result for our buyer!

🎉 We also celebrated a fantastic outcome for wonderful clients whose home, after just over three months on the market, went into multiple offers. A great reminder that patience and persistence can pay off!

🔑 Tuesday and Wednesday were intense, with three sets of keys handed over in two days. Possession days are exciting, but they don’t always unfold perfectly. When an unexpected issue arose for one of our clients, we stayed involved and advocated for a fair resolution.

🍽️ With two later-day possessions in Nanaimo, we wrapped things up with a team dinner at Original Joe’s—a chance to catch our breath, debrief and plan ahead.

🍦 After another busy day reviewing offers on a listing that had gone live that morning, we treated ourselves to Coastal Cones at Qualicum Beach’s final Thursday Night Market of the season. We were sad to see it end—another reminder of how quickly summer is flying by.

🥗 Carol and Bruno also made time for lunch with Margaret and Sam. Margaret and Carol have known each other since the ’70s—there’s something special about friendships that span decades!

🌸 Along the way, we admired the beautiful flowers we saw along the way and Brittany and her family discovered a wonderful new community park on Shelley Road in Parksville.

We’re slowing down whenever we can, taking it all in and appreciating the little reminders that it’s still summer.

🏡 Things Carol and Brittany do as REALTORS® that would seem completely unhinged in almost any other profession… 😂

Carry keys, measuring tapes, boot covers, snacks, phone chargers and the occasional closing gift in our cars at all times.

Get genuinely excited when a septic inspection goes well.

Discuss crawl spaces over dinner like it’s perfectly normal conversation.

Drive from Parksville to Nanaimo, Ladysmith, the Comox Valley and back to Parksville and Qualicum Beach—all in a day if that’s what it takes to help our clients find the right home.

Notice every For Sale sign, moving truck and freshly painted front door—even when we’re technically “off.”

Take photos of utility meters, check sheds, open cupboards and ask questions about wells, Poly-B, hot water tanks, electrical permits and the age of the roof.

Make calls before breakfast because an offer came in overnight—or stay up late because negotiations don’t care what time it is.

Show up on possession day ready to hand over keys… and somehow end up troubleshooting cleaners, movers, forgotten belongings or whatever else the day decides to throw at us.

And yes, we have inspectors, contractors, mortgage brokers, lawyers, notaries, photographers, stagers, cleaners and septic professionals on speed dial. 😂

It can be unpredictable, occasionally chaotic and never quite the same from one day to the next.

But beneath all the funny stories and last-minute surprises is something we take very seriously: our clients are trusting us with their homes, their finances and a major transition in their lives.

Our job is to anticipate what we can, handle what we can’t, give honest advice and help people move forward with confidence.

And after all the early mornings, late nights, inspections, negotiations and key handovers—we still genuinely love what we do. ❤️

A little Beach Club Resort knowledge goes a long way. 🌊

405D – 181 Beachside Drive is officially SOLD, and this one felt especially fitting for our team.

Carol has sold 12+ Beach Club units, so you could say she knows the resort pretty well. 😁And before Brittany got into real estate, she worked right at the Beach Club’s front desk: learning the resort, the rooms, and all the little details that make this Parksville landmark a truly special place to vacation ⛱️
