The Time Change Debate is Back… What Do You Think? ā°

Twice a year we all deal with the clock change and most people seem pretty tired of it.

Back in 2021, Alberta held a referendum asking if we should switch to permanent Daylight Saving Time (summer hours). The result was basically split right down the middle… but the ā€œNoā€ side won by the smallest margin: 50.2% to 49.8%.

Now the conversation might be coming back.

With BC saying this could be their last ever time change, Premier Danielle Smith announced Alberta will re-evaluate the issue.

But the real debate isn’t just about stopping the clock change it’s which time we keep:

ā˜€ļø Permanent Daylight Time (Summer):
More evening daylight after work… but winter sunrises in Edmonton wouldn’t happen until after 10:00 AM.

šŸŒ™ Permanent Standard Time (Winter):
Better for sleep and health according to many experts… but you lose that extra hour of evening sunlight in the summer.

So I’m curious…

If Alberta had to choose one which would you pick?
