We’re 100!
Melcor is proudly celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023. Melcor was founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 1923 as a real estate company intent on helping people attain the dream of home ownership. Over the next 50 years, Melcor grew to be the largest real estate brokerage in western Canada, leading MLS sales in many major centres throughout the late 60s and early 70s. Since the 70s, Melcor’s main businesses include developing master planned, amenity rich communities (several including golf courses) and planning, building, and managing income generating commercial assets.
Melcor started building homes in Red Deer and surrounding communities in the late sixties. Melcor developed it first community in Red Deer in 1979 in what would become Eastview Estates.

This is one of the perks of this job: Building the parks that become the focal points of our new communities. If you've followed the evolution of the Evergreen Community you know the natural area in the middle of the community was created by Dave Larratt. More than 50 years ago Mr. Larratt constructed a dam on the property to retain the seasonal runoff, creating a water body that attracted wildlife year round. Melcor is proud to be building a community around this naturalized area and honour Dave Larratt for its creation by naming the park after him.

Enjoying the third “In the Neighbourhood” concert in Red Deer’s new Evergreen subdivision! Featuring young duo Your Youth (Kailyn Hall & Izzy Starr) performing for this lovely all ages community! Wonderful to see so many families out enjoying this not too hot evening outdoors! Special Thanks to Melcor Developments for the power installation and Mal's Diner food truck for providing a delicious meal to this growing community!
