Unlocking Foundations: Secondary Suites Just Got a Big Boost!
The Government of Saskatchewan has extended the Secondary Suite Incentive (SSI) for another year. The SSI works because this made in Saskatchewan solution grows rental supply while helping families invest in their homes:

In 2025 alone, Regina issued permits for 266 secondary suites and 7 backyard suites. That's real investment, real construction activity and real housing supply coming online.
Saskatchewan is uniquely positioned, with Canada's 2nd highest shares of single-family homes and the highest rate of insulated & heated basements. The foundations are already there (literally).
