My Story, for me it’s about more

With family in the business, I grew up around real estate. As a toddler, you could find me at open houses with my dad, and as a young kid, I was riding my bike around the neighborhoods. After high school I left for Quebec to follow my football dreams. Those dreams took me back west to Nanaimo and finally returning me home to Saskatchewan. I was privileged to be able to have played on some great teams, meet amazing friends, but more importantly, I learned some very valuable lessons.

Football taught me about team work, leadership, persistence and many more lessons. But the most valuable thing I learned was why my coaches coached. They were rarely paid, and when they did it was never enough to make a living. They coached because they loved the game and they wanted to make a difference in the lives of the young men they coached. The game of football gave me an education, friends and taught me life lessons. Without those lessons, I wouldn't be the man I am today. I wouldn't have the friends I have, the life I live, and stories to tell.

Why am I telling you this story? Why does this matter to a real estate agent? I learned that there is more to life than you might see at first glance. For those coaches, it was about more than football.

I took that lesson and applied it to my life and my business. For me, it's about more. I don t believe in being JUST a real estate agent. I believe in being a member of my community. The real estate industry enables me with the flexibility to coach football. I only hope that I can have an impact on an individual like my coaches did with me. And just maybe they can be blessed with the many experiences and opportunities that football can provide.
