Dear Community Friends, Colleagues, and Respected Members,
Many of our Bengali community organizations work hard each year to organize picnics, cultural programs, and various social events. These activities bring our community together and create wonderful opportunities for friendship, networking, and cultural celebration. However, organizing such events often requires significant time, effort, and dedication, especially when it comes to fundraising and securing sponsorships.
With that in mind, I would like to humbly offer a friendly suggestion for discussion.
Perhaps we could consider a system where elected Presidents, General Secretaries, Vice Presidents, and other Executive Committee members voluntarily take responsibility for covering a portion of the expenses for the annual picnic or major community events during their term of office.
Such an approach may help reduce the pressure of fundraising and sponsorship requests while also encouraging a stronger sense of leadership, responsibility, and commitment within our organizations.
Of course, this is only a friendly suggestion for open discussion and is not intended to criticize or challenge anyone. Every organization has its own circumstances, priorities, and financial realities. However, I believe that positive discussions like this can help strengthen our community and make future events even more organized, sustainable, and enjoyable for everyone.
I sincerely welcome your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions on this idea.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our community. 🙏
