🥧 Best Classic Shepherd’s Pie Recipe ✨

This is one of those comfort dishes that looks impressive but is actually very doable. A savoury meat filling, creamy mashed potatoes, a quick assemble… and the oven takes it from there.

It’s also perfect for planning ahead. You can prep the meat, make the potatoes, or assemble the whole thing in advance. Cover it, refrigerate, and bake within a few days when you’re ready. Future-you will be very happy.

Traditionally, Shepherd’s Pie is made with lamb — but I usually go with ground beef. It’s easier to find, and honestly… I just prefer the flavour. Cozy, familiar, and always a crowd-pleaser.

These bite-size frittatas are just right for entertaining — easy to serve, easy to love, and always one of the first things to disappear. And if you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, they’re just as good the next day. I like to turn them into a breakfast sandwich!

Savory sausage, tender chard, creamy eggs, and salty feta come together in a way that feels both comforting and a little elevated.

🍳 INGREDIENTS:
— Nonstick vegetable oil spray
— 1 (12-oz) bunch Swiss chard, stems and ribs removed
— 1 tbsp olive oil
— 1 cup chopped onion
— 8 oz mild Italian sausage (I use spicy), casings removed
— 8 large eggs
— ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
— ½ tsp salt
— ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
— 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
