BOC has maintained their policy rate at 2.25%.

'The war in the Middle East has increased volatility in global energy prices and financial markets, and heightened the risks to the global economy. The breadth and duration of the conflict, and hence its economic impacts, are highly uncertain.'

The Bank of Canada today held its target for the overnight rate at 2.25%, with the Bank Rate at 2.5% and the deposit rate at 2.20%.

GVR February 2026 Stats:
Benchmark pricing: detached decreased with attached/townhouses and apartments/condos increasing from January 2026
Listings: increased in all 3 categories
Sales: increased in all 3 categories (last time sales increased was in Oct 2025)
Days on Market (DOM): decreased in all 3 categories
Sales to Active Ratio: detached 9% / attached/townhouses 17% / apartments/condos 14%
Months of Inventory (MOI): detached 11.2 / attached/townhouses 6 / apartments/condos 7.1
Interesting to see the BP increase for attached and apartments with sales increasing in all 3 categories. Also with DOM decreasing in all 3 categories. Usually our spring market starts end of February. Could our spring market be activated by more Buyers coming out and taking advantage of the 'lower' prices and more choices?
