Hello everybody!

I want to first apologize for my inactivity on this page, in the beginning I thought this would be a key component in creating new contacts and staying busy but the truth is you all have kept me plenty busy and without need to advertise. This entire time however I have felt very thankful for anyone following along anyway and so this post is for you!

The past year and a half + since starting out on my own with this business has been so fulfilling. I've had so many great opportunities and met so many great people. I want to make note that the trust and respect required to let someone in your home or on your property to conduct repairs or builds is immense and I am so thankful to the near countless people that have given me the privilege so far. It's no secret that almost everyone has heard a story of bad egg's that operate under the name "handyman". While it is deeply disappointing that these stories exist and can often work against honest people such as myself it is also a driving force for me to restore honour and respect to the name of all the hard working handymen/women out there who conduct themselves with integrity. There's a reason I operate under my family's name and wear it on my back everyday.

On another note, I thought I should fill you in on just what I've been doing since starting out on this journey. Below I'll make up a list though I'm sure to forget some! Bottom line is not to be afraid to reach out, big or small I can help. I will not accept a job if I'm not absolutely confident I can deliver the results you're looking for and no job is finished until you are happy. Been keeping so busy I forgot to share these! Had a blast getting into a couple more deck jobs recently including a complete stair rebuild and the new construction of a 12’x12’ patio. The patio is set to recieve a privacy wall/railing along 2 sides in the near future. These among a bunch of other odd jobs and projects.

Just in case anyone thought I wasn’t fully committed to this business I went ahead and learned how to screen-print so I could brand every shirt I own, hahahaha. Took some trial and error but pretty happy with the results. I never really saw myself entering the blue collar fashion industry but I always appreciate an opportunity to pick up a new skill (not to mention save some money). If you see me around please tell me you like my shirt😂

Here’s another fun one to add to the list!

After discovering a leak in this hot tub the owners felt no choice but to let it sit dormant for a bit, nervous of the impending costs to diagnose and repair. When looking it over it was clear the seals on the jets/fittings were beginning to breakdown and fail. After talking with the owners we opted to fix this issue in an economic fashion. Now, this hot tub has a deck built around it making a lift/dismantle all the more time consuming and challenging, with that in mind, rather than the more invasive and costly task of lifting the tub to dismantle every fitting from underneath and replace the seals I removed the jet heads and used a pick to remove the breaking down seals then gave everything a good cleaning. I was able to source a high grade silicone sealant specific to spa/hot tub use and capable of withstanding the high temperatures and chemical’s that a hot tub faces. After 2 rounds of application to each fixture I am very confident this tub will hold water for many years to come. When fully cured all that’s left is for the lines to be flushed. Following that it can resume offering a sense of relaxation as opposed to frustration. The best part is you’d never even know I was there!

The moral I hope to convey is to never be nervous to reach out, sometimes our backs are against the wall but in many cases the solution you’re looking for can be a lot cheaper than you anticipate and even offer the same results as a more expensive option. I strive to carefully balance confidence with a humble nature so if I don’t think I’m the right fit for the job you need I will always be straightforward about that. It’s my name and reputation on the line after all.

I’ve been keeping busy with many smaller projects including some autobody work, resealing windows and doors, building shelving for basement storage, tearing out>reframing>drywalling and plastering an interior wall to create a new entrance, salvaging an existing fence to rebuild it along the true property line and more but I am very proud to showcase my business’ first deck job!

It was a fun build that included salvaging much of the existing frame, installing new supports to keep the deck sturdy and level as well as extending the overall size of the deck on top of making room to build a raised concrete pad that could accommodate the install of a new hot tub. They plan to erect a gazebo over the hot tub and construct a privacy wall around much of the deck as well as add a step when they decide on the fencing layout and design they want to move forward with to complete a little sanctuary of relaxation.

Happy Saturday everybody!

I’ve been wanting to share a more personal post on this page in the spirit of expanding on my core values of honesty and transparency. I’m hoping this will further work to establish my reputation and trustworthiness in our community so I want to offer a deeper glimpse as to who I am beyond the business and what has lead me here.

I am 27 years old with a humble home in Albrights Corner and a dedication to living the life of a loyal and hardworking family man, nothing has brought me more love or purpose on this earth than my wonderful wife and our amazing children. It should be no surprise that my favourite way to pass the time is to simply enjoy being in their presence no matter what we’re doing. A close second however is putting in a hard day of work so I can tell myself I deserve that evening lounge in my lazy-boy chair, hahaha.

I developed 2 dreams from a pretty young age, one of which I’m happy to say is coming to fruition and that is to build a business. The other is still pushing me towards the goal and that is to build my own home. Together these ambitions have guided me through life with an intense eagerness to learn and desire to experience all it would take. After highschool, I really hoped to explore a career in architecture but post secondary school was unfortunately not financially feasible for me. My path lead me to do the second best thing which was to dive deep into the trades where I could work to bring architecture from blueprint to reality. I worked with and for many great crews, all of which I have a deep respect for. From framing, fine finishing, concrete, masonry, decking, siding, windows and doors, insulating, landscaping, wiring, plumbing and more. I got to experience jobs in industry niches as well as jobs where we would build from ground-work to completion including homes, cottages, garages, sheds, decks, gazebos, yurts and more. I even have experience in autobody repair and with a father who is a well established mechanic I am proud to do most servicing on my own vehicles. I continue to carry every lesson with me in hopes my experience speaks for itself with every job I take. Professionalism means a lot to me in an industry where I know many pay more attention to the bottom line than the job at hand. I do not seek to get rich doing this, only to provide a happy and healthy life for my family and quality work for my customers. So while I am only a one man crew with a start-up business I can’t say I am ready to build your home or mine, let it be said that we just don’t know what the future holds. For now all I can say is I’d love to be your handyman and will forever appreciate any opportunity.

Hey folks!

You’re all much deserving of an update, I apologize I haven’t been doing much uploading/promoting. Your overwhelming support has lead to me being fully booked until the end of May!

I’ve been fortunate to provide a lot of great people with my services so far and have many fun and rewarding projects in queue.

I will have a lot to be posted when I slow down a bit. I have been on the fence about posting every job but with a lot of scheduled work already on my plate I think I would rather inspire people to use my services when I’m closer to being readily available for them. Let’s talk about caulk… sorry.

While it may seem like a taboo subject when spoken out loud it definitely is a worth while conversation.

There is a large variety of compounds when it comes to types of caulking and their use depend widely on application and function. Some caulking is mainly used for cosmetic purposes, like caulking along trim to seal unsightly gaps (also good for keeping dust and debris out). However, many applications like what I’m talking about today have an even more important role in our homes, though, still can be cosmetically satisfying when done properly. Caulking is an excellent sealer, that’s why you’ll find it on your tub/shower surround, around your sinks and backsplash, and around all of your windows, inside and out! The only downfall we face with caulking today is that over time it will deteriorate, allowing channels for moisture to travel and become trapped. Even worse moisture can make its way into structural components of your home, this can quickly create problems with the integrity of your homes construction so we want to be sure we combat the issue before it has a chance to get there. No one wants to clean themselves or their dishes while exposed to mold or mildew and certainly no one wants their home’s integrity compromised by rot.
